My name is Shaun Cohen. I am an associate therapist practicing under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Gaudioso. I provide all levels of psychotherapy including, individual, group, couples, and family therapy.
I graduated from the M.S. program in Mental Health Counseling program from SUNY New Paltz. I am compassionate and find importance in searching for solutions to one’s current difficulties while understanding the important influence their past has on them.
I have a strong base of skills in crisis counseling, trauma informed therapy, and enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ population, young adults, clients struggling with traumatic experiences, and those affected by anxiety, depression, or other mental health difficulties. I utilize an integrative approach focusing on client empowerment, better interpersonal functioning, building social supports, self-soothing techniques, and better understanding one's thought processes.
I treat each client with a sense of unconditional positive regard and have one main goal for all of my clients, and that is allowing them to feel supported and unjudged in the work I do with them. I look to facilitate growth and better personal understanding in every client I work with.
