About Gichel Walters, M.S.,
|
My name is Gichel Walters. I am an associate therapist who is practicing under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Gaudioso. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who graduated with distinction from Mercy College. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate pursuing a degree in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior.
I have been instrumental in implementing numerous community-based rehabilitative programs throughout Westchester County. I hold professional certifications in Moral Reconation Therapy, Domestic Violence and Anger Management, Vocational Training (both Adult and Youth), Parenting Skills and Co-Dependency Therapy. I am also trained and certified by the Department of Criminal Justice to work with the Re-entry Population using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process using a "Person-Centered" approach. I assist and support clients to be the author of their own lives. Over the past 6 years I have worked with various populations in both individual and group settings. I enjoy what I do and deeply respect the therapeutic relationship and process.
